Neo & Bee has been under fire as of late due to allegations that the Bitcoin vendors committed fraud against customers. To make matters worse for the company, Cyprus has issued a warrant to the police for the arrest of the CEO, Danny Brewster.
The warrant was issued on Friday for Danny Brewster under the suspicion of fraud. Cyprus Mail was told that Neo & Bee’s CEO is “a person of interest in an ongoing investigation” involving the whole fraud case.
Danny Brewster Wanted by Police
Three formal complaints have been filed so far against Danny Brewster. He allegedly got money from customers who wished for Bitcoin in exchange. However, the customers said they never got the Bitcoin. Last week, two complaints were filed that were regarding €20,000 and €15,000 that were never given back as bitcoins.
Danny Brewster last posted on a Bitcoin forum saying that he left Cyprus because threats were made against his daughter. He’d written:
“Following those posts on the forum, I received direct threats targeted directly at my daughter, they have been reported to the relevant authorities, Once those threats were made I took the advice to remain outside of Cyprus and remove contact with anyone that could be responsible for the threats, this included not speaking with members of staff that could be responsible.”
Brewster initially left the island in order to raise more funds for Neo & Bee, however, after receiving threats he decided to stay abroad and sell all his shares. At this point, it is uncertain where the Neo & Bee CEO is. It is notable to say that the Danny Brewster denied that he misused anyone’s money, he wrote,
“every single bitcoin raised and spent is accounted for.”
According to Cyprus Mail, issuing a European arrest warrant is not out of the question.
Neo & Bee Share Price Drops
Havelock Investments halted the trading of Neo & Bee at the end of last month “due to an increase of abnormal activity.” Soon after, trading was resumed, however, the due to the uncertainties, the share prices of Neo & Bee fell sharply all the from 0.002 bitcoins ($0.89) to 0.0001 bitcoins ($0.05).
So far, Danny has not made any comments to the recently unfolding events.
