John McAfee-led MGT Capital welcomes bitcoin experts to Cryptocurrency Advisory Board

MGT Capital Investments, newly helmed by cybersecurity guru John McAfee, announced over the course of the week the appointment of prominent members of the bitcoin community to its new Cryptocurrency Advisory Board.

Joining the board are:

Roger Ver, a bitcoin angel investor known as “Bitcoin Jesus,” who was named chairman of the board;
Erik Voorhees, founder and CEO of cryptocurrency exchange ShapeShift; and
Bruce Fenton, executive director of the Bitcoin Foundation.

“The Cryptocurrency Advisory Board will ensure that MGT remains current in the protection of this critical field and provide the most state of the art products to its customers,” said MGT in press releases about these appointments.

According to the releases, MGT is in the midst of acquiring a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity technologies. These include D-Vasive, a provider of leading-edge anti-spy software, and Demonsaw, which offers a secure and anonymous file-sharing software platform.

The company is slated to change its corporate name to “John McAfee Global Technologies, Inc.” upon the closing of the D-Vasive acquisition.
