Will This Year’s ATM and Mobile Innovation Summit Impress?
Just a few blocks away from the White House, the second annual ATM & Mobile Innovation Summit will commence between September 10th and 12th, at the Capital Hilton. More than 40 speakers are expected to give presentations, ranging from payment processing companies to bitcoin ATM manufacturers.
ATM & Mobile Innovation Summit
Some of the speakers at the 2014 summit will include representatives from Bitpay, Robocoin, the Bitcoin Investment Trust, PAI, Mastercard, Citi, JP Morgan and much more. Government agencies and regulators are also expected to present discussions.
The event will start off with discussions and debates of the ever controversial bitcoin digital currency, as well as the bitcoin ATM and mobile payments industries.
President and CEO of Networld Media Group and producer of the summit, Tom Harper, stated:
“For the past 17 years in the payments industry, I’ve never seen as much change as we’re experiencing right now. Consumers are used to the ATM, they’re used to the phone, so what’s going on is really a natural evolution of payments combining old and new technologies in a strange sort of marriage.”
Harper is also a publisher for ATMmarketplace.com and MobilePaymentsToday.com.
A list of some of the event’s sessions include:
- case studies of actual ATM to mobile integration.
- a Durbin interchange debate.
- payment security and data breaches.
- optimizing user experiences.
- a showcase of demo of mobile banking exploitation .
- lessons learned from EMV migration outside of the US
- a panel of governmental regulatory agencies.
There will also be a pre-event workshop focusing on ATM and mobile compliance. This workshop will be led by attorneys from Cox Smith and BuckleySandler.
The ATM & Mobile Innovation Summit was designed for financial institutions to share and communicate directly with one another. Those who are interested in attending the summit can register here.
MIT Bitcoin Expo
Hosted by HackMIT, the MIT Bitcoin Club, and the College Cryptocurrency Network, the MIT BItcoin Expo looks to be one of the biggest bitcoin events of the year. It will will be held on May 3rd at the Stata Center, starting at 11am.
Similar to the ATM & Mobile Innovation Summit, the event will cover the basics of bitcoin, from how it works, to having experts take the floor and share their perspectives on digital currencies.
Bitcoin is the biggest thing around today, so much so that some are comparing it to the early formation of the internet. Educative expos and summits like these hope to make the learning process as easy for new bitcoiners as possible.
Impressive or not, it will definitely be interesting to see all those companies at the summit and what ideas they might have to share.
