ShapeShift releases Android app for trading all major cryptocurrencies instantly

Cryptocurrency exchange ShapeShift announced on Wednesday the launch of its Android app which enables the trading of every major cryptocurrency at the touch of a button.

Users of the app will be able to trade Bitcoin with Dash, Litecoin, Ether, Counterparty and other digital assets at “lightning speed” anywhere they take their Android device.

The app, which is already available for the iPhone, allows users to trade Bitcoin with other assets from their mobile device without them needing an account, username, password or email address, unlike any other exchange service.

ShapeShift said that this model “provides superior consumer protection,” because it does not store sensitive private information. The exchange added that with the app, “shifting” coins is a hassle-free process where users simply select their desired digital asset, specify the payout address and experience the conversion only seconds following the receipt of the deposit.

“Immediately after we released our iOS app we were flooded with requests to create the Android version,” said Emily, ShapeShift’s director of marketing. “We are always looking to fulfill customer needs, so we’re excited to release the Android app, giving users more ways to use the exchange.”

The new ShapeShift Android app, which is available for download on the Google Play store, can also be downloaded from https://shapeshift.io/site/tools/shapeshift-mobile.

ShapeShift recently combined with leading cryptocurrency companies CoinKite and BitQuick, and released its “Skeleton” tool that allows any website to become a digital currency exchange.
