American CEO of Singapore Bitcoin Exchange Found Dead
Late last month, Autumn Radtke, the American CEO of a Bitcoin exchange in Singapore was found dead near her apartment. Radtke was the CEO of First Meta, a digital currency exchange in Singapore.
According to Forbes, the virtual currency exchange allowed customers to buy and sell their digital money. In addition, users could exchange regular currencies for digital money and digital money for regular currencies.
On the digital currency exchange’s website it says,
“The First Meta team is shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke. Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones. Autumn was an inspiration to all of us and she will be sorely missed.”
The website also says that since January 2012, Radtke had been living in Singapore.
A Bit About Autumn Radtke
Radtke defined First Meta as a digital currency exchange that takes “virtual currencies and pay out real $ via paypal.”
According to USAtoday, Radtke’s last posts on Facebook were from February 10. In addition, one of her posts was a link to an article on the psychological price of entrepreneurship.
The article talked about struggles that start-up CEOs face and what the effects of severe stress can do to them. A line from the article is,
“Rather than showing vulnerability, business leaders have practiced what social psychiatrists call impression management–also known as ‘fake it till you make it.’”
According to the Daily Mail newspaper in London, Radtke’s body was found in her apartment on February 28. On Wednesday, Funeral services for First Meta were held in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, near her family home.
The exact cause for her death is still under investigation.
