Twitter users wondered why the CEO of Blockchain was so excited. Today, the answer is crystal clear. Blockchain has been able to get a five year deal to manage the domain name Bitcoin.com exclusively.

According to a blog post, Blockchain is trying to build a widely known presence in the Bitcoin realm and community. The website is trying to build relationships to increase cryptocurrency knowledge, understanding, and usage. Having Blockchain manage the Bitcoin.com domain is another step to promote Bitcoin awareness. As stated in the blogpost, Blockchain’s mission is to

“Provide the tools and services that build on Bitcoin’s core strengths.”

Blockchain admins are very happy to be part of an exclusive deal with the bitcoin.com domain. They are looking forward to creating new learning skills and introducing new users to Bitcoin.

“Finally, Blockchain.info understands that it’s important to drive this education today so that tomorrow the whole community can benefit from the next generation of world class Bitcoin infrastructure and applications.”

Another way the website has spread awareness of Bitcoin is when it released a merchant app on the Google Play Store last month. The merchant app allows an easy and simply way for businesses and markets to accept Bitcoin.
