Mining Hardware Company KnCMiner Updates Neptune Information

KnCMiner has announced in a newsletter that it has updates for its upcoming product. Firstly, the mining hardware company released a statement on their 20nm chip in which it clarifies that it is using very high tech chips in their mining equipment. The mining hardware company wrote,

“What we can say is that the technology we have chosen is cutting edge and this means a lot of companies are careful about adopting such technologies.”

KnCMiner explains that it has pride in bringing the most recent technology to its customers. KnC adds,

“We over engineer our chips and don’t promise anywhere near the actual 100% performance they could possibly achieve. This enables us to use the latest and greatest chips safely. So when you read about much longer timelines for this technology it’s important to note they are not our timelines.”

This means that KnCMiner uses different approaches than other mining hardware companies. Perhaps this is the reason as to why it is still able to deliver products to its customers on time. KnC explains that it over engineers its chips to better its mining equipment and to deliver a more powerful, yet efficient, mining hardware to their customers.

Neptune Update

KnCMiner writes that Neptune is still in production at the TSMC Foundry in Asia. However, the mining hardware company is aiming to get the chips out as soon as possible. The wait will hopefully not be too long, and the best part is that KnCMiner is allowing customers some options as they wait for their Neptune.

This doesn’t mean that there will be a delay in the shipment of the chips, KnCMiner explains. However, this hasn’t stopped the mining hardware company from creating a backup plan. As was mentioned in a previous newsletter, KnCMiner is creating a mega-data center in the north of Sweden to allow “free hashing power” to customers in substitute for their pre-ordered Neptune while they wait for its delivery.

In the recent announcement, the mining hardware company writes that the mega-data center is almost complete.

“All customers of Neptune’s will be able to use completely free of charge our data center to hash for them at 3TH either on our pool or a pool of their choice while they wait for their product to be shipped.”

The first customers will be able to begin hashing in early June and the last towards the end of June. This means that customers will be allowed to hash via the data center for as long as KnCMiner is unable to deliver Neptune.

Convert Neptune to 3TH Jupiter

KnCMiner lists another option customers can implement: if they are unwilling to wait for Neptune, they can switch their order to a 3TH Jupiter. The mining hardware company writes that they have 400 of these available and they are based on their previously successful 28nm chips. KnCMiner then goes on to list the specs of this product and items included in the deal:

• 18 of our own 28nm 8 DC/DC module ASIC boards with coolers,
• 3 controller cards,
• all cables needed,
• Power supplies not included.

If more than 400 people wish to switch over to 3TH Jupiter, then KnCMiner will allow the ones who pre-ordered Neptune to have the first pick.
