U.S Presidential Election 2016 Candidate Darryl W. Perry Accepts Bitcoin
Darryl W. Perry, the libertarian party candidate for the U.S presidential elections of 2016, announced on his website that contributions are being accepted only in Bitcoin, Litecoin, silver, gold, and copper. Perry who is a publisher, radio/TV host, and an award winning author, is a staunch advocate of Bitcoin and innovation.
Darryl W. Perry Supports Bitcoin
Perry has written on his website,
“The Darryl W. Perry for President (2016) campaign will not be accepting donations in currencies recognized by the federal legal tender laws, instead the campaign will only accept Bitcoin, Litecoin and precious metals.”
Perry feels that the current financial and monetary system is based on fraud, theft and force. He also believes that the central government forces people to use fiat currency that they might not want to use.
Perry says that by getting rid of the legal tender laws, repealing the monopoly of the Federal Reserve, and allowing other currencies to be used, will be the only way to improve the economy. He has also said that national currency’s value has been manipulated which caused it to decrease around 98% in the last 100 years. These ideas of his are directly challenging the federal government.
In fact, Perry fully supports getting rid of the Federal Reserve, unconstitutional spending, and the IRS. He wrote on his website,
“I support abolishing IRS and all taxes related to income. The federal government should, once again, be funded, as it was from 1789 until 1913, by tariffs and excise taxes.”
Perry felt that the actions taken by the Federal Reserve, to fix the financial problem, have not been enough and that the Federal Reserve shouldn’t have taken any actions during the financial crisis. He believes that the actions taken by the Feds created more problems since they manipulated the issue.
Perry also supports the free-market system with competing commodity currencies. Hence, Bitcoin and other digital currencies play right into this.
