WikiLeaks Founder Predicts Bitcoin will Elevate Financial Innovation
During a Webchat Livestream at the Net Prophet event in Cape Town, South Africa, founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange spoke about the next great innovation in the world of finance.
WikiLeaks Founder
As you may have guessed by now, Assange was alluding to bitcoin, the world’s first decentralized digital currency. At the annual technology and trends conference, he stated:
“Bitcoin is the most intellectually interesting development in the last two years.”
He adds that the ideology behind bitcoin is that it establishes a new global consensus. With bitcoin, the finance sector will never be the same again.
Still under the Ecuadorian embassy in London, Assange predicts that a few years from now, bitcoin and other technologies will give off a level of innovation in finance that the world has never seen before. In his mind, today’s model of the financial industry just doesn’t cut it anymore. Bitcoin has come up at the perfect moment in time.
He adds that the age of dominance is diminishing with bitcoin’s help. Money no longer has to be centralized or controlled by a single institution. Bitcoin puts power in the hands of the people and restores balance.
Assange claims that bitcoin allows for diversity, which causes big banks to panic. This leads banks to ignore digital currencies altogether.
Rather than hold people back, he feels that bitcoin brings about a global mentality, necessary for finance to be at its best.

As government foundations focus on education, as well as the developments of science and technology, RAMP builds a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, primarily for web-based businesses. Their motto is to help make business sense for the internet. (“Making business $ense of the Internet’.)
