Deloitte to open blockchain lab in Dublin
Deloitte announced this week it has chosen Dublin as the home of an EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Financial Services Blockchain Lab.
The professional services and consultancy firm will put together a 50-member team that will be composed of blockchain developers and designers, to be based at lab.
Deloitte said in a press release that the team will concentrate on developing strategic blockchain capabilities into functioning prototypes to build “ready to integrate” solutions for financial services clients. Such efforts have already proven successful in Deloitte’s joint proof-of-concept trial with the Bank of Ireland.
The team will collaborate with global organizations seeking to roll out blockchain-powered solutions across different nations. Serving as the Deloitte EMEA center of excellence in blockchain, the lab will work with specialist teams in other member firms.
Earlier this month, Deloitte announced partnerships with five major blockchain technology companies – BlockCypher, Bloq, ConsenSys, Loyyal, and Stellar – as part of the firm’s international blockchain delivery initiative.
