Blockchain education provider launches free Ethereum training for 1k students, Tezos Foundation-sponsored protocol program for 250

London, UK-based online blockchain education and training provider B9lab with a global community of over 14,000 students in more than 160 countries has launched its Community Blockstars Programme to provide free training, mentoring and certification in Ethereum for 1,000 aspiring blockchain developers the world over followed by the Tezos Foundation-sponsored Tezos Blockstars training program for 250 students worldwide.

The Ethereum program aims to deliver quality education to an audience of individuals from diverse geographical, professional and cultural backgrounds to strengthen the Ethereum development community, while the Tezos course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become industry-leading Tezos developers.

B9lab co-founder Damien Ducourty said in a press release CoinReport received from Wachsman, B9lab’s PR company, “We are thrilled to be working with the community to further blockchain education as we are going to see the technology impact a wide variety of industries. We’ve witnessed an increasing demand for jobs in the space over the last few years, and we are excited to be training the next generation of developers and entrepreneurs.”

The timeline for the first installment of the Ethereum program is as follows:

• Selection process (Online test) – 31 January – 28 February
• Developer course – 1 March – 3 May
• Final project submission – 4 May – 1 June
• Official certification – by 29 June

B9lab course materials, instructors and a variety of additional services offered by community collaborators will be accessible to all participants of the Ethereum training. A certification will be awarded to the Ethereum training participants who receive a grade of 80% or above.

B9lab co-founder Elias Haase stated, “It’s important for us to give back, and our mission with Blockstars is that it will empower the blockchain community and allow people from all walks of life to contribute to the development of, and participation in, the technology. The beauty of the programme is that people of all ages, locations, professions and cultures can apply, which will ultimately help diversify the industry, creating a community that is open and inclusive.”

Applications for Tezos Blockstars are open until March 20, 2019. The intake will begin on March 27, 2019, and will run for seven weeks, with approximately 140 hours of work in total. Alison Mangiero, president of the Tocqueville Group, a Tezos-focused firm that the Tezos Foundation enlisted to help design the program, said in another news release we received also from Wachsman, “B9lab’s Tezos Blockstars program underscores our effort to attract the best and brightest developers and entrepreneurs to build on Tezos. With the Tezos Foundation’s support of this project, a new cohort of developers will be able to build and innovate on the only major self-governing proof-of-stake blockchain operating and contribute to this growing community.”

Ducourty added, “As an established protocol, Tezos is at the cutting-edge of advancements in the blockchain space, and we are excited to be able to create this course with input from the Tezos Foundation, and that they share in our vision of making learning more accessible.”

Individuals and companies that are interested in becoming a community partner can do so by sponsoring seats in exchange for access to top rising talent. Those interested can alternatively donate their brain power, technology or time to become a community collaborator, too.
