F1 world champion Fernando Alonso’s photos/videos to be managed, protected via KODAKOne
Canadian Securities Exchange-listed blockchain investment firm Global Blockchain Technologies Corporation (BLOC) announced in a press release CoinReport received from IRTH Communications, BLOC’s PR firm, that two-time Formula One world champion and World Endurance Championship (WEC) driver Fernando Alonso and WENN Digital, Inc. have agreed in principle to protect Alonso’s professional and personal images and videos via to-be-launched blockchain-secured image rights management and protection platform KODAKOne.
WENN Digital, in partnership with Kodak, is the creator and operator of the KODAKOne platform and KODAKCoin tokens. BLOC is a lead investor in the platform.
KODAKOne will be the exclusive image registration, protection and license-monitoring solution for certain photos and videos of Alonso, including presently archived items and videos and photos taken in the future.
Alonso’s worldwide fan base will have an opportunity to access the platform, allowing for them to not only upload, register and protect their own videos and images of their favorite Formula One driver, but also get rewarded for doing so in specific instances.
Alonso, who just won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in Le Mans, France, said in the press release we received, “We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC.
“I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity, and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform.”
WENN Digital and Alonso, as part of this new level of fan engagement and rewards, also plan to develop a platform that will reward media content producers as well as fans for a variety of products and services around Alonso.
BLOC president and CEO Shidan Gouran commented, “BLOC partners and strategically invests in companies who are committed to innovating and developing technology to improve and change industries. The announcement of KODAKOne becoming the exclusive image registration, protection and license-monitoring solution for all of Alonso’s images and videos reinforces our investment in KODAKOne, which should position itself as a dominate force in the digital image economy.”
