Cryptsy, DebitWay partner to foster altcoin trading
Online payment platform DebitWay.ca announced Wednesday that altcoin exchange Cryptsy.com has joined the Montreal-based corporation’s growing list of digital currency enterprises that have turned to DebitWay to help expand their businesses into Canada and beyond. The Florida-based Cryptsy joins Expresscoin, QuadriagX, and CoinRNR as DebitWay’s digital currency partners.
In July, CoinReport reported on Expresscoin expanding its services to Canada. This included offering service through DebitWay. According to its website, DebitWay is an accredited third-party service provider for the INTERAC© Online Payment (IOP) solution. Available to all online merchants who conduct business in Canada, the INTERAC© Online service is a secure, easy-to-use payment option that allows users to pay for goods and services on the Internet directly from their bank accounts.
In a press release, DebitWay said:
“The partnership between DebitWay.ca and Cryptsy.com will allow Canadian crypto-currency enthusiasts to transact with Cryptsy on their own terms and in their own currency, allowing the Altcoin trader to expand its growing number of registered users.”
The corporation added:
“With IOP firmly in tow, Cyptcy.com can now look to DebitWay’s Direct Debit Transfer (DDT) in order to secure worldwide real-time cash transactions in the hopes of allowing people from all walks of life to trade digital currencies amongst each other.”
DebitWay said that by offering its payment solution, Cryptsy continues to adhere to its mission: providing a safe environment for users to trade digital currencies with others as efficiently as possible. The Canadian company said the inclusion of IOP ensures that members can conduct transactions with freedom from liability.
“One of the beautiful things about IOP is that no personal information is ever transmitted over the internet,” said Jonathan Arias, a software developer with DebitWay, in the news release, adding that any information transferred across the DebitWay is encrypted and SSL-protected.
Founded in May 2013, Cryptsy has experienced significant growth in both its customer base and total online trades. The altcoin exchange boasts 230,000 registered users, more than 300,000 traders per day, and 150 different types of digital currencies available for trade.
“We set out to make it safe and easy for users to trade digital currency,” said Cryptsy CEO Paul Vernon in the news release. “Our success and growth is a direct indication that people are interested and passionate about the future of coinage.”
