KnCMiner Updates Customers on Future Plans
In a recent newsletter email, KnCMiner, a mining hardware company, discussed updates on three things: Jupiter sales, Neptune Development Progress, and their new project ‘Plan B’.
No More Jupiter Sales
KnCMiner has said they will not be selling any more Jupiter hard ware. This is sure to upset some people. But, the company had the intention of selling Jupiter after the end of their Network Protection phase, however because of how quickly the Bitcoin network updates, they decided to end all future Jupiter sales.
Development Progress for Neptune
In order to bring Neptune to the market quickly,
“backend engineering teams have been working 7 days a week around the clock,”
KnCMiner says in the newsletter. Neptune will be one of the first 20nm chips to be released into the market of bitmining. The company said that they had learned a lot from their previous 28nm chip and because of this they will be able to make Neptune even better.
KnCMiner also said,
“[They] have a further reduction in power consumption of around 11% from our initial calculations, which means [they] can squeeze in even more cores.”
This is good news because with less power usage, the company can add more cores to increase Neptune’s performance. KnCMiner truly stands behind their moto “Under promise, Over deliver”.
What is Plan B?
So that they do not disappoint their customers, KnCMiner is making sure that they will compensate any delay in Neptune deliveries. They will be giving free hosted hashing packages to those who fully paid for their Neptune. Over the next few months, KnCMiner will be trying to bring enough hashing power online to host their packages. The company is creating a data center powered by renewable energy that is located in the north of Sweden near Facebook and other mega data centers.
If there are any delays with the delivery of Neptune units, the delays shouldn’t negatively affect customers since they will be compensated for by KnCMiner as they discussed in their recent PR.
More information will follow as the delivery date of Neptune gets closer. No exact delivery date was released.
Coinreport will be covering any future KnCMiner updates, stay tuned!
